Comments: I'm a retired supply chain consultant. I own a cabin on the Upper Mississippi and love to search on each towboat that comes by. What a great compendium of info. Wish I had known of it when I was working. Thanks.
Comments: I worked on mv Felica, now called "Windy City" on her maiden voyage in 1979. It was good to see pictures pf the old girl. She was in an accident that trip. I have pictures of her in dry dock
Comments: My father, John Franks, was the original chief engineer on this boat after it was built. He worked for Nilo (then Olin) for many years then for Dravo after Olin sold to them, most of those years on this boat. He worked a total of 47 years on the river and loved it. Sadly he passed in 2006 after being retired only 9 years. Miss his old stories of the "River life".

Comments: Finishing up high school in 1983-84 I was a deckhand on this boat.with Hollywood marine. Captain was Gene, can't remember his last name. I remember sitting in the wheelhouse watching the lines as we were docked maybe in Galviston as Hurricane Allicia came thru. A few days later we we in Houston and it was a mess. I learned my lesson once not to get too close to the lines if you got them bound up in a lock. If they start making noises and shrink real fast like a rag you are squeezing our you better move or it will break and knock you down fast. Also when the co captain shoots at gators along the inter coastal the bullets just bounce off, some good times 😀😀
