Comments: I was a deckhand/striker on Ashland Oil\92s towboat fleet, and mainly worked on the \93Ashland\94 under Capt Willard White in the late \9160s, early 70\92s.
I also worked on Ashland Oil\92s \93Valvoline\94, \93Allied-Ashland\94 and \93Aetna-Louisville\94. And being from Ashland, sometimes made some extra money working locally on Ashland Oil\92s MV \93Harbor Point\94 in the Tri-state KenOVa harbor.
Though I mostly worked the \93Ashland\94, I had the bad luck of being on the \93Aetna-Louiville\94 (under Capt Eugene Dent) when it collided head on with a Chotin alcohol tow directly under the bridge at Brandenburg KY.
If I had my life to live over again, I would have stayed on the river.
Comments: My Late Husband John A. Duncan who passed from this world on 2-05-14 took great pride is this Vessel as one of it's Chief Engineer's. After John's death I pray he is remembered for his dedication and commitment of hard work and pride in his accomplishments on board the James F. Neil.

The LARRY Y. STRAIN is named after my brother Larry. He passed away in 1998 at the age of 46. It is a dream of mine, to bring his two sons and their wives and ride the boat. Does anyone know how I can contact someone to ask about this?
