Comments: I grew up on the Ohio River, and my dad worked for ACBL on the Frank Rader, V.W. Meythaler, and if I remember correctly, the A.C. Shelton, and also spent some time in Cairo. I've probably seen many of these boats a time or two!
Comments: I\92ve been chasing and repairing boats for the last 10 years and have become addicted to it. I couldnt see myself in another industry. I currently work for Blessey Marine Services as a Port Engineer/Electrician.

Comments: Started my maritime career as assistant engineer on the UNITED STATES with Federal Barge Lines...I forgot just how swoopy the lines of that boat were. I went on to a career in deep sea side of the business, tankers, bulk carriers, cruise ships and finally ocean tugs, but never forgot where I started.

Comments: I worked on the Fort Pierre under Captain Brown in the summers from 1972 to 1975. When it was owned by SCNO. Mostly on the Missouri River.
Comments: I recently found a very nice ash tray of the pusher David McAlister. I was trying to find someone that might be interested in the old river pusher.

Comments: I was captain of the National Flag in 1968 and 1969 would like to get a copy of picture # 2 Georgetown #0512697 by Ed Christianson.
Comments: I started out as a deck hand on the MV Debbie Lee in 1973 when it was owned by M&M towing in Greenvile, MS. I worked my way up to be the pilot. Bob Barnes was the Captian.
Comments: Thank you so much for posting these 16 photos. I am a Vickers, my Aunt and Uncle were Juanita and Elmer Vickers, and I was raised playing in the shipyard and on these tugs. It was so nice seeing Aunt Nita's Tug. Thank you for keeping the History of all these tugs alive.
